A FEW TIPS TO KICK START AND STEP UP YOUR GAME, THE SMART WAY!

A FEW TIPS TO KICK START AND STEP UP YOUR GAME, THE SMART WAY!

Up, Up, And Away!

Whether it is weight loss, muscle gain, or just making healthier lifestyle choices, health and fitness resolutions always steal the spotlight on our to-do lists as we ring in the New Year.

And while everyone is super motivated pre the much haunted “day one”, keeping up the enthusiasm throughout the year is the real challenge and what really counts…

We’re all in this together so here are a few simple tips we’ve compiled to make this year your year!

Set Goals

It is important to set goals as this will help keep you on track. They should be smart, achievable and realistic. Give yourself weekly targets and reward yourself whenever you achieve these targets as this will keep you motivated to stay on the journey!

Take small steps

You’re already pretty great and there’s really no need for drastic lifestyle changes! But nobody’s perfect so focus on small changes that will add up and help you feel healthier and better overall.

For example, instead of sitting in front of the TV for an hour, try to do a 20 minute home workout such as skipping rope or taking the stairs. And if you really must watch a whole season on Netflix, plank for 90 seconds between each episode or try 3 sets of 15 dips using your coffee table!

Find a health buddy!

Share your health journey with a friend, this will make it more fun! Daily activities such as going out for a jog, playing tennis or even going for  healthy brunches makes your journey feel like a lifestyle change rather than a mission!

Focus on mindfulness

Health isn't just about weight & food, mind wellness is also important as it is part of the holistic approach to a happy life. While daily stress can have a negative impact on our health and productivity, regular meditation can help in attaining a balanced state of mind.

Enjoy the journey

You have a whole year ahead to make healthy lifestyle changes. Enjoy the process rather than focusing on reaching a destination. You'll be more likely to stick to your resolutions when you look at them as tiny long-term lifestyle changes!

Here's to a great healthy new year of actually achieving results! We’re here to help you make it different this time, so call, email or poke us anytime J

Yours in health,

Danya.
